All pets require microchipping with an ISO approved chip that must include a certificate verifying the type of chip used, this microchip must be inserted before or at the same time your pet/s received their last rabies vaccine. Your pet must then wait 1 month before your veterinarian can draw a blood sample that has to be sent to Onderstepoort for a Titre test. This test must be done at least 3 months, but not longer than 12 months before departure and all animals must wait at least 30 days after the Rabies inoculation to build up a Titre before this sample is taken. For this reason your pets are only allowed to travel three months after this blood has been drawn.
Mandatory vaccinations for dogs include:
- Distemper
- Parvovirus
- Leptosporosis
- Contagious Hepatitis
Infectious Panleukopenia and Leukose Feline are mandatory vaccinations for cats.
